On, March 6th, Jeanne and I had our very first seminar for seniors and their families. It was a great time for all who attended. The venue was spectacular at Boerner Botanical Gardens and the staff was amazing! We had 80 folks that not only showed up and braved the suspect weather forecast of a snow storm.
Fortunately, the sun showed up just when we arrived. What a blessing!
We had six speakers covering subjects of downsizing, the process of home selling, long-term health care, financial advice, conversations between adult child and parent about moving from the home they love, Medicare options and more. We had other business owners who donated their time such as a basement contractor, home inspector, stager, and seniors helping seniors in home care.
There were door prizes and materials given out by the businesses who attended. Coffee and donuts were scrumptious and all who attended were so very appreciative of the information provided.
We hope to have another seminar in the fall as many could not make it and were hoping to take part. It will be sometime in September and we hope to make it even better!
